University of Denver

Dear Parents,

Greetings from the University of Denver Office of Student Activities! I want to be the first to tell you how delighted I am of your child's interest in our Greek community. There are many advantages to joining a Greek letter organization. First and foremost, joining Greek Life is a lifelong commitment to a values-based organization designed to enhance both their collegiate and post-graduate experience through philanthropic, scholastic, and networking opportunities, as well as the opportunity to make lifelong friendships.

The University of Denver Greek community is a part of the Office of Student Activities which is housed within the Division of Student Life. It prides itself on upholding the 4 Pillars of Greek life; Scholarship, Leadership, Friendship, and Service. The programming provided for our community is based upon these 4 Pillars. Our executive councils and community are extremely busy. Over the past year, they have sponsored a speaker to discuss the dangers of drunk driving, hosts a quarterly scholarship ceremony honoring the scholastic achievements of our Greek members, and held a “Trick-or-Treat” event that invited local area children to visit the Greek houses to trick-or-treat and take part in the activities that the chapters provided, just to name a few. Additionally, there are many leadership opportunities that our Greek students can take advantage of. Not only are there multiple opportunities within their chapter, but the Executive Councils and the Office of Student Activities hold Greek Camp, a retreat for new members in the Fall quarter after recruitment, while Greek Leadership Retreat is held during the Winter quarter to welcome and train our incoming Greek leaders, and this past year we sent a record 13 students to the Western Region Greek Association Leadership Conference. Our Greek students are an influential force at the University of Denver and are present in our major student organizations, including the All Undergraduate Student Association and the University of Denver Programs Board. I am assured that your student will take advantage of the many opportunities available.

I hope that this website is helpful to you and answers your questions, but if you should ever have any questions or concerns regarding your students experience at the University of Denver, please do not hesitate to contact me. I look forward to meeting you in the future.
